What is GST Registration?

GST (Goods and Services Tax) registration gives your business a 15-digit GSTIN. With it you can charge GST on invoices, claim input tax credit on your purchases, and work with clients who require a GST-registered supplier.

Registration is mandatory in some situations and optional in others. Thresholds and rules can change, so we check the current position for your business instead of applying a rule of thumb.

Is this right for you?

Who this is for

A good fit if you

  • Cross the GST turnover threshold for goods or services
  • Sell goods or services across state lines, or through online marketplaces
  • Want to claim input tax credit on business purchases
  • Have business clients who ask for a GSTIN

Something else may suit you better if

Your turnover is below the threshold and you have no mandatory trigger. Registration may be optional for now.

You make only tax-exempt supplies. Registration may not apply.

Your turnover is small and you sell goods locally. The composition scheme may be an option once registered.

  5. Start. You receive your GSTIN, and we explain invoicing and monthly filing.
Timeline & cost

How long it takes and what it costs

3–7working days, typically, when documents are in order. A physical verification or officer query can add time.

Actual timing depends on how quickly documents are ready and on the processing time of the authority involved.

Your total cost has two parts: our professional fee, and any government or statutory fees that apply. Government fees are set by the authority and vary by case, so we give you an itemised quote before you commit to anything. GST registration is included in our Starter package. See our pricing page for packages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Direct answers to the questions we hear most.

It depends on your turnover, what you sell and where you sell. Many small businesses below the threshold do not need it unless they sell inter-state or online, but some choose to register voluntarily.
Yes. You can register even if you are below the threshold, for example to claim input tax credit or to work with business clients who need a GSTIN.
Typically 3 to 7 working days if documents are in order. A verification or query from the GST officer can take longer.
If your annual turnover from services is above the threshold, or other rules apply, yes. Otherwise it may be optional. We assess your situation before recommending anything.
