What is MSME (Udyam) Registration?

Udyam Registration is the Government of India's online registration for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It gives your business a permanent Udyam number and certificate, and classifies it by investment and turnover.

It is open to manufacturers, service providers, consultants and freelancers operating as proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs or companies. The registration itself is free on the government portal; our fee covers getting the details right and filing for you.

Is this right for you?

Who this is for

A good fit if you

  • Run a manufacturing, service or trading business
  • Want easier access to bank loans and government schemes
  • Want protection under the rules on delayed payments
  • Are a freelancer or consultant who wants formal recognition

Something else may suit you better if

Your business is above the MSME investment and turnover limits. It would not qualify.

You will never use any scheme, loan or tender benefit. It is optional, so waiting is fine.

You have not yet registered the business itself. Start with the right structure, then register for Udyam.

Timeline & cost

How long it takes and what it costs

A few daystypically, when your Aadhaar, PAN and GST details match.

Actual timing depends on how quickly documents are ready and on the processing time of the authority involved.

Your total cost has two parts: our professional fee, and any government or statutory fees that apply. Government fees are set by the authority and vary by case, so we give you an itemised quote before you commit to anything. MSME registration is included in our Starter package.
