What is TDS Returns?

TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) means deducting tax when you make certain payments, such as salaries, professional or contractor fees, rent and commission, and depositing it with the government. The deductor then files a quarterly TDS return and issues TDS certificates to the people paid.

Returns are filed in different forms: 24Q for salary, 26Q for payments to residents other than salary, and 27Q for payments to non-residents. Late filing and short deductions attract fees and interest, so a steady process matters more than a one-off filing.

Is this right for you?

Who this is for

A good fit if you

  • Pay salaries, contractor or professional fees, or rent above the TDS limits
  • Need a TAN and a clean quarterly filing routine
  • Have missed TDS deposits or returns and need to catch up
  • Want Form 16 and 16A certificates issued correctly

Something else may suit you better if

Your payments are below the TDS limits and you are not required to deduct. Check with us before you start paying.

You only need a TAN for now. We can apply for it as a standalone step.

You want payroll handled too. See our payroll processing service.

Timeline & cost

How long it takes and what it costs

TDS runs on a monthly and quarterly cycle, so the focus is a steady routine, with returns filed by the due date each quarter.

Your total cost has two parts: our professional fee, and any government or statutory fees that apply. Government fees are set by the authority and vary by case, so we give you an itemised quote before you commit to anything. TDS compliance is included in our Guardian package. See our pricing page for packages.
