A non-profit company for charitable and social work.
ZegalWorks guides you through the Section 8 licence and incorporation, so your non-profit starts with the right legal foundation.
What is Section 8 Company Registration?
A Section 8 company is a non-profit company under the Companies Act, 2013, formed to promote objects such as charity, education, science, art, sports, social welfare, religion or environmental protection. Its profits must be applied to those objects, and it cannot pay dividends to members.
It gives an NGO or social enterprise the credibility of a company with a formal governance structure. Incorporation needs a licence under Section 8, so the process involves more scrutiny than a standard company registration.
Who this is for
A good fit if you
- Run or plan an NGO, foundation or social enterprise
- Want a formal, credible non-profit structure

Something else may suit you better if
You want to distribute profits. A Private Limited Company or LLP is the right structure.
You want the simplest, smallest setup. A trust or society may be simpler for some activities.
You are unsure of your objects. We can help define them in a consultation.
